Rob Cohen To Direct ROADHOUSE Remake

Will it contain throat rips?

MGM have reportedly hired Rob Cohen (‘Alex Cross,’ ‘The Fast and the Furious,’ ‘xXx’) to take the director’s chair for a remake of the 1989 cult classic ‘Roadhouse.’

Starring Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch and Sam Elliott, the original followed James Dalton (Swayze), a professional “cooler” (head bouncer) with a mysterious past who is hired to tame a dirty bar in Missouri only to find himself falling foul of a corrupt businessman (played by Ben Gazzara).

The screenplay for the remake comes from Michael Stokes (‘Crash Bandits’). Matt Dines will oversee development for the studio.
