Oscar-nominated headed to Pacific Rim

Legendary Pictures has revealed plans to hold a standalone panel at this year’s Comic-Con to showcase four of the company’s upcoming projects, Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim,’ Sergei Bodrov’s ‘Seventh Son,’ Alex Proyas’ ‘Paradise Lost,’ and an adaptation of BioWare’s hit videogame ‘Mass Effect.’

Interestingly, the press release also reveals that ‘Babel’ and ‘The Brothers Bloom’ actress Rinko Kikuchi is part of the cast of del Toro’s monsters vs mechs epic ‘Pacific Rim.’ The Oscar-nominated Japanese actress will join the director and the movie’s other leads Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Charlie Day along with screenwriter Travis Beacham to promote the movie at Comic Con.

The panel for ‘Seventh Son’ will have Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Alicia Vikander and director Sergei Bodrov in attendance, while the ‘Paradise Lost’ panel will include actor Bradley Cooper and director Alex Proyas (‘Knowing,’ ‘The Crow’). ‘Mass Effect’ creator Casey Hudson and scribe Mark Protosevich will be present to promote the game to film adaptation.
