Re-imagining of 2010 thriller lands cast.
Riley Keough (‘Jack and Diane,’ ‘Magic Mike’), Julia Garner (‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’), Bill Sage (‘Boardwalk Empire’) and Wyatt Russell (‘This Is 40,’ ‘Cowboys & Aliens’) have all joined the cast of ‘Stakeland’ director Jim Mickle’s ‘We Are What We,’
A “reimagining” of Jorge Michel Grau’s acclaimed cannibal thriller ‘Somo Lo Que Hay,’ the film follows the story of two sisters (Keough and Garner) who are secluded from mainstream society. Following the untimely death of their mother, their father (Sage) forces them to perform a depraved ritual, carried out by their ancestors for generations. Screen Daily reports that Russell will play a young deputy who is in love with Keough’s character.
Mickle is expected to begin principal photography May 29th, with filming to take place in the Catskill Mountains.
