Disney’s Rich Ross Graduates To Studio Chief

The Walt Disney Company has named Disney Channels Worldwide top executive Rich Ross as its movie studios chairman, following the departure of its former chief, Dick Cook.

 

The announcement puts Ross in charge of worldwide production, distribution, and marketing for all of the entertainment giant’s film labels, including Walt Disney, Touchstone, Miramax and Pixar.

 

 

Ross joined Disney in 1996 as a senior vice president of programming and production at Disney Channel, and was named the channel’s president in April 2004.

 

Under Ross’, the Disney Channel has launched some of the
company’s biggest franchises, from Hannah Montana and the Jonas
Brothers to “High School Musical.”
