RED LIGHT WINTER Replaces Mark Ruffalo with Ben Foster

Indie drama undergoes casting change.

Variety is reporting that Ben Foster (‘Lone Survivor,’ ‘Contraband’) has closed a deal to replace Mark Ruffalo (‘Avengers Assemble’) on writer-director Adam Rapp’s indie drama ‘Red Light Winter.’

Adapted from Rapp’s own play, the story follows two male friends “who travel from New York to Amsterdam and become caught up in a love triangle with a prostitute, bringing to the surface dark undercurrents in their troubled friendship.”

Kirsten Dunst (‘Bachelorette’) is attached to play the prostitute, while Katherine Waterston (‘Robot And Frank) is on board to play a character who shares a romantic past with both male leads.

Billy Crudup was previously attached to take the second male lead, but the ‘Watchmen’ star has reportedly dropped off the indie.
