Actor linked to $15 million feature.
Variety is reporting that Ralph Fiennes (‘Skyfall,’ ‘Harry Potter’) is in advanced discussions to board James Foley’s fantasy drama-romance ‘Sands.’
Featuring a screenplay by novelist Renata Bovara, the story centres on “a New York couple — a surgeon and his wife — involved in an accident that leaves the woman in a coma. Caught between life and death, the woman’s spirit travels to India where she is drawn to an imaginary man. She must choose between her love for that man and her husband, who is desperate to bring her back to life.”
Foley is said to be eyeing prominent actress to star opposite Fiennes.
Production on the $15 million project is set for later this year in Toronto, Reunion Island and India. ‘Sands’ will be a co-production between Ava Films, Phantom Colombia, HanWay Pictures and Bombay Berlin Films.
