Rachel Weisz Seeks THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS

Weisz may join Fassbender for ‘The Light Between Oceans.’

Rachel Weisz, who recently wrapped on Giorgos Lanthimos’ ‘The Lobster,’ is reportedly in negotiations to star alongside Michael Fassbender (‘Frank,’ ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’) in ‘The Light Between Oceans.’

Adapted from the 2012 International bestseller from first-time novelist M.L. Stedman, the Australian-set drama follows lighthouse keeper Tom Sherbourne (Fassbender), a veteran of the First World War who returns home and takes a job as the lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock. Tom and his wife, Isabel, are faced with a moral dilemma when a boat washes ashore their isolated island carrying a dead man and a crying infant. Only years later do they discover the devastating consequences of the decision they made that day – as the child’s real story unfolds…

‘The Light Between Oceans’ is set up over at DreamWorks with Derek Cianfrance (‘The Place Beyond the Pines’) directing, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander (‘Tulip Fever,’ ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’) also stars.
