Rachel McAdams in Talks to Join Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma

De Palma nabs leads for his dark and twisted remake.

According to Thompson on Hollywood, Rachel McAdams is in talks to join her ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ co-star Noomi Rapace in ‘Passion,’ Brian De Palma’s “loose” remake of 2010’s French thriller ‘Crime d’amour.’

Directed by the late Alain Corneau, the original starred Kristin Scott Thomas as a ruthless and uncompromising executive mentoring a young ingénue, played by Ludivine Saginer. The two soon become cutthroat rivals. De Palma’s take will tell the story of woman who turns “murderess when her boss steals her idea.”

Budgeted at $20 million, the remake will be produced by Ben Said (‘Carnage’) and Paris-based SBS Productions, the same company behind the original. Production is slated for March, with filming taking place in Berlin.

‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ arrives in cinemas this week.
