Solid, entertaining film with Ok special effects and much coolness from Guy Pearce.

Gone

I actually enjoyed this one. Seyfried is very easy on the eyes and frankly quite a charismatic actor. The story was lagging a little as the film went on but overall did not feel like money wasted.

John Carter

Actually, quite good. At places, the costumes seemed silly and the film felt rushed, but overall good entertainment. The female character treatment takes the cake - smart, independent, and often rescues John Carter.

Average, really. Christina Ricci was the best thing about it.

At first I thought I wasn't in the mood to see this, but then I did end up seeing it with my buds. I never knew there was such a good story coming out of Iceland (and I will check out the original). The director of the Icelandic feature is at the helm of this one as well. There is plenty of action and good acting all around. The story keeps you on your toes. Overall, great manly entertainment.

The Island President

A really interesting feature about a newly-elected president. Nasheed is very charismatic, well-spoken, thrown into the deep end following a dictatorship and facing the environmental crisis. This film is one to watch for anyone skeptical about global warming. You really know that something is happening by seeing the folks on remote islands affected by this on a daily basis. Much of the HQ photography is quite stunning. Furthermore the soundtrack features Radiohead. Overall, a documentary that's easy to sit through. Well worth a watch.

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Quite a decent film with Julianna Moore at her best. Steve Carrell was decent in a dramatic part and Emma Stone is quite charming. There are some good lines and some things you wouldn't usually see in a rom-com. It is a welcome change and some well-spent money.

Apollo 18

Decent production values aside (considering the film's budget), it could have had much more potential. Soon enough the scares become repetitive and not even remotely interesting.

Cowboys & Aliens

A neat, albeit slow-going, western wiht good performances, action sequences and an interesting story.

Final Destination 5

Ok, movie, too much stuff thrown into my face and acting is not up to scratch. Go only if you are a fan.

Fright Night

An enjoyable flick with plenty of suspense, horror, sexiness and a crip, clear 3D.

The film was much less than what I expected. Although Saldana is brilliant, she was not used to her full potential. Although there are a couple of great action sequences, the film never troubles itself too much with the back-story and a repititive motif. The fact that a woman is an assassin should not make the movie less enjoyable.
