Loved it. One of the best superhero movies I've ever seen, and probably the best Marvel film to date.
It's genuinely funny, importantly catering to casual moviegoers who want to see a spectacle up to comic entusiasts.
I thought the action scenes were brilliant, with the finale being especially epic.
The plot follows a well worn cliché, but when it's wrapped up like it is here it's hard to care.
Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Awesome movie, another quality offering from Duncan Jones. Not exactly what I expected based on the trailers but it was so much better. It's a tense thriller, with excellent performances from Gyllenhaal and Monaghan. I was slightly disappointed by the ending (which was pretty much what I expected) but by no means takes away from what is a tightly paced and thrilling story. Thoroughly recommended.

Best film of the year so far. Really makes you think about the characters and what's going on, such a change from the brainless popcorn flicks of the last few months. Highly recommended

Highly enjoyable for the most part with some genuinely funny "laugh out loud" moments. However the ending felt a bit tacked on.

Excellent opening scene that sets the tone for the rest of the film, a tone that is never really hit again. With the exception of the final fight, the action sequences were enjoyable and the film gets an extra star for the "dagger on chain" weapon alone!
It was poor in between the action scenes though, and at times you're left a little too long before the next fight.
It's better than G.I. Joe

Still as magical today as it was in 95. The 3D was done fantastically well

Probably THE best pixar movie to date. A fantastic story brilliantly told, "Up" reminded me why I love movies and why Pixar can be considered one of the best production studios ever.
Plus it nearly made me cry but I'll never admit it if you ask.

I'm ashamed to say I enjoyed it! It was a completely cringeworthy cheesefest. Decent CGI, woeful acting and uninspired fight scenes. All can be forgiven if you don't set your expectations too high. If you went in nkowing it was going to be terrible then you'd probably nit pick at everything. It really is leave-your-brain-at-the-door-else-it-turn-to-mush stuff.
Cant forgive them for shoehorning celtic in there though. God that was woeful.

Witty, stylish, sometimes epic but regularly spectacular and always magnificent! Star Trek caters for trek fans and non trek fans alike, so you don't need to worry about whether your friend/date/partner/mum will get it.
The story is well crafted and fashioned from the old staples of any good trek story - time travel and parallel dimensions. That's really all there is too it. The pace is almost perfect, the characters are introduced gradually and the whole experience is handled masterfully. Even the little things are handled well, with death in the silence of space in the middle of a battle being somewhat jarring.
The characters are casted brilliantly. From kirks' brashful confidence to bones' waxing lyrical, I'm sure young and old alike will have a favourite.
If I had to say something bad about the movie, I didn't like the fight scene on the drill. It was fairly signposted and felt too choreographed. Sulu typified this and it could be seen coming a mile away.
All I can say is that I really really REALLY want to see this again!
Its been a while since we've had a film the merits of which could be debated in the pub long into the pints.
Also, +1 star for the use of the beastie boys' sabotage.

Not a patch on the book, The Damned United presents an alternative portrayal of Clough during his time at Leeds. The film almost ratifies everything he did in his 44 days in charge, glorifies anything positive achieved an penltimately feels like a pro-clough biography. For those looking for the griity, psychologically damaged characters from the book will be disappointed, the film has even removed the desk burning scene - a pivotal and telling moment! Never mind the ending....
