Ben Affleck's new movie as a director is an amazing real-life caper straight out of tha anuls of caper history! It tells the true story of an unorthodox CIA agent called Tony Mendez. This is a watchable, enjoyable film, with some hilarious and nail-biting moments, but it sets its face disconcertingly against satire and mischief with a final lurch into schmaltzy, liberal-patriot piety. It is as if Aaron Sorkin, in his most solemn mood, had suddenly taken over screenwriting duties for the final 10 minutes. The movie is, in effect, based on Mendez's own testimony; as with all spies' tales, we're entitled to our pinch of salt, but his story is just so incredible it compels belief: a startling piece of declassified secret history about a CIA-sponsored bogus film. The moral might be that there's no business like showbusiness, no showbusiness like the movie business – and you can pretty much rely on everyone uncritically kowtowing to its glamour and prestige. In 1979, six American officials managed to scramble out of the US embassy in Tehran, just as it was overrun by a pro-Ayatollah mob who brutally held the remaining personnel hostage: an ordeal for them and for Jimmy Carter, whose presidency bled to death in the ensuing media furore. The six escapers holed up in secret at the Canadian ambassador's residence, and back at CIA headquarters, the crisis was handled by Mendez, the agency's top "exfil" guy – an expert in exfiltration, or getting Americans out of enemy territory. He is played by Affleck himself, a stolid, unflashy performance: a single shirtless moment is his only self-indulgence.

Titanic...... Does exactly what it says on the tin, I'm not sold on all this 3D movies business, as I think it's just a gimic from studios to make money, but I think Titanic, as a film, stands on its own two feet..... The subject matter of the unsinkable ship who maiden voyage ended in tragedy still grips people 100 years after the event.... The film is obviously helped by great performances from Leo & a very you (and hot) looking Kate Winslet...... The fictitious storyline is still gripping and entertaining! It has aged really well and I'd happily recommend it...... Again!

FANTASTIC - I put on this movie for my nephew, and hadnt planned to watch it but I got sucked in and I have to say it was brilliant, its fun easy watching and theres enough humour aimed at adults which goes over the kids heads, which makes it a great family movie.

I thought overall this film was good - I dont think it quite lived up to the hype - I think anyone who wants to go see this film should read the book first as there is a lot of stuff ommited from the film that is included in the book. Thankfully Jennifer Lawerence is hot so we'll let them away with it.

Saw this movie last night, I know going to this film there was a feeling of gloom in the pit of my stomach as it had a lot of hype to live up to, and like a lot of films with this hype it tends to fall short of the mark.... Im happy to say this film more or less lives up to the hype. Its full of action packed Marvel action and offset with a lot of humor. I would have like Marvel to go darker with the film, but thats not exactly Universal & Marvels way. I think the plot was fairly weak, nothing taxing at all but it wasnt neccessary - They tied all the charactors together very well and I think all the cast worked very well together! Happy to recommend this to people.

This film was funny and warm and well deserving of the best actress from Sandra Bullock!

I though this film was going to be very difficult to make from the get go, and sadly I think I was proved right... Having read the book I may have been expecting too much from Peter Jackson but being Irish myself I had every confidence in Saoirse Ronan, I think she did a wonderful job as did the Rachel W and Susan S but I just think the film and book were heavens (shameless pun) apart!

I came across this film by chance and I have to say it was one of the best surprises of 2010 so far. Its a very slow paced moveie so you'll have to stick with it. Robert Deniro gives another stellar performance as do the entire cast. The film speaks to parents and children alike and address the breakdown in communication that can happen in families. It also speaks to parents who want the best for their children and push them to such a severe degree that it has adverse effects. Give it a watch you'll enjoy it!

When I saw the trailer for this movie, I wasnt expecting much and the one positive thing I can say is, I wasnt let down. The film is fairly slow to start off and theres a lull in the middle and it ends at a bit of a crawl.... so all in all Id say the film is missable!

I hadnt heard much (if anything) about this movie when I sat down to watch it, so I want sure what to expect. I knew there was potential with the always stellar Liam Neeson and the more than capable duo of Seyfried & Moore playing the female leads. The plot sees Julianne moore suspect her husband (Neeson) of infidelity and she hires Seyfried to entice the older man to see what (if anything) he would do. Seyfriend reports back to Julianne Moore on the things her and her husband have done, going into details about their sexual episodes. There is a big plot twist at the end, and while I knew somethign was coming, I didnt see THAT coming. This was an enjoyable film and well worth a look.
