Seen this on the new Imax in Cineworld at the 48 FPS and have to say i was very very dissapointed Esp after seeing the Star Trek preview which looked amazing on Imax but when The Hobbit started it looked dodgy and cheapo like a movie you would see on the Sci-Fi channel,Thought this was only the start but know the whole movie looked this way and the action scene just looked speeded up and it just ruined the movie for me. So in my opinion donr see it in the higher speed rate deffo go for the 24 FBS and wont have a problem, The movie is enjoyable and some good action scenes but a bit slow in the middle and a bit dragged out, on a possitive note Freeman is excellent as Bilbo and am looking forward to no 2 plus always good to see Gollum back on screen. If you're into the Lord Of the Rings you will enjoy it but i am deffo not alone on the bashing of the high speed rate.
Seen this at preview in Savoy on Sunday enjoyed it and animation looked good,Dont think small kids will love it (under 6) as isnt enough going on to hold their attention or enough funny stuff but kids over six will get a kick out of it and enjoy it,Nice movie to see over the Xmas.
Hard to do a review of this without spoliers but anyway, Bond is back on top form after the crappy Quantum of solace fiasco, Bond fans wont be dissapointed , the opening scene is brilliant opening with great action,Good action throughout and you get to see a differant side of Bond and that he isn't indestructable after all and also get a bit of a back story too. Javier Bardem is a great villain and tries to intimidate Bond in a way not seen before.well worth a look Skyfall is very enjoyable but i thought it lagged a bit in the middle but the old school Bond in the end made up for it still well worth the price of admission ands also play spot the nods to previous Bonds, great to have Q back but needs more gadgets next time.
Seen this at Movie fest (Surprise Movie), It dosn't really know what it want s to be, Story isn't great at all, You're kind of waiting for something to happen and it never does, I think mosy of the actors are in it cause they are mates with Dax Shepard. Not really worth a trip to the pics, Wait till its on telly.
A lot of hype has been around looper and if you like time travel pics you wont be dissaponted, Even if you dont like time travel movies i dont think you'll be dissapointed. No Spoiers here, Its a great story, you think its going to go one way but it dosnt and story goes in a different direction than you expect which is great.Another great performance from Joseph Gordon Levitt and Willis is good as usual, Some great acting from the young boy who play Cid. JGL does look a bit weird at first with prosthetics to look like Willis but you dont really notice after a while , You can see he studied Willis a lot as he has the mannerism down to a tee. I seen this a movie fest and really enjoyed it,and after sleeping on it enjoyed it even more, Will bring of plenty of conversation about time after you see it as most time travel movies do.Go see it is has a bit of everything and even if you are not really into sci-fi action or Bruce Willis go see it, You may be pleasently surprised.
Seen this at Moviefest over the weekend and really enjoyed, Loved a lot of David Koepp's stuff ,Ghost town,Stir of Echoes and many films he wrote this is deffo a change of genre for him him, some great bike stunts and a couple of edge of seat moments, good scenes were Wilee is picking his best route and you see the different what if's.reimded me a little bit of Cellular from a few years back,Shannon is a good bad guy.Well worth a trip to the pics and greatbike chases, you want to pull your racer out of the shed after watching.
Seen this at Moviefest over the weekend, To be honest i wouldnt have gone to see it but really enjoyed it and the story is pretty good, A lot of nods to classis Horroe movies and bit of the sixth Sense in there too. The stop motion is excellant.Well worth a look and a few laughs in there.
Good movie, enjoyed it but you will prob ask yourself did they really need to reboot or could they just have got a new cast and director and done the same thing.Everyone know the origin story now and the gettin used to his new powers bit so not a lot they can do there. The story is good and fx are pretty cool and spidey looks good.Garfield and stone and both very good an am looking forward to what is gonna happen in the next two movies (Trilogy now announced) Well worth a look if planning a trip to the pics.
Well the marvel movie all the fans have been waiting for since Nick Fury showed up at the end of iron man 4 years ago has arrived, was it worth the wait? Deffo! The Avengers is great and fans of all the previous movies will not be dissapointed , you would wonder if it would work with iron Man , The Hulk, Thor & captain America etc all in one movie but it does, Tony Stark / Iron Man does get some of the best lines though.great story and great action, all go in the NY battle that will have you on the edge of your seat and the best 3D I've seen in a while.this is a must see if you like comic book movies or enjoy a good ole summer blockbuster, roll on Avengers 2 .
This is a great popcorn flick and a must see if you like ation movies, IF you enjoyed the other MI movies you will enjoy this, The Movie starts with the team breaking Ethan Hunt out of Prison and is all go from there,The stunts are great esp the edge of seat stunt on the Burj Khalifa in Abu Dhabi. Brad Bird can deffo do great live action flicks as well as animated films, will be interesting to see what he does next. I just wish we had an iMAX so could have seen it on it. if your planning to pay a visit to the flicks soon go see this, well worth a look.Roll on more MI movies.
Real Steel is a mixture of Rocky, Transformers & the champ, Charlie (Jackman) is a retired boxer who makes money out of boxing robots and owes a lot of money to several people, his ex girlfriend dies leaving him with custody of a son he dosnt know or want. He ends up spending a few weeks with his son Max and they find a new robot to train to box and bond along the way. The robot fighting effects are pretty cool and the fights are enjoyable as the underdog Robot called Atom works his way up in the robot fighting world. I really enjoyed this and is deffo a good family film and kids will get a real kick out of the robot fights.well worth a trip to the pics for Fathers and sons everywhere.
The whole idea of a movie could have turned out crap if handled in a cheesy way but its not & i was surprised and how serious the film is and the charactors and made all the better that Craig, Ford and the rest are not cracking stupid jokes throughout. some good action. The style of the film is good with the classic western and the sci fi mix and great that not all the action takes place at night or in the dark and great you get a good look at the Aliens and big battle towards the end, where with a lot of Alien movies you dont realy see the Aliens, good effects and cgi looks good. As summer blockbusters go its a good popcorn flick and was nice to get a break from 3D as i dont think it would have worked as well in 3D, As Jon Favreau said in Moviefest intro it wasnt shot digitally to keep it authentic and you can deffo tell. Craig plays a good part as the moody cowboy without a memory who wakes up with stange braclet on and dosnt who why or who he is, Ford is good as the towns tough guy ex general rancher, Sam Rockwell could have been given a bit more to do though. If you like sci fi you will enjoy but if goin with small kids can see them covering their eyes for parts.
