Thor

I had very little knowledge of the comic character so had no real expectations going in. I loved how it felt different to all other comicbook movies, no cliches, it all felt very knew. The scenes in Asgard felt very CGI in parts but it balanced well with the scenes on Earth. Natalie Portman is the perfect foil to Thor. My only gripe is that it wasn't long enough, I was surprised when the credits rolled, it felt out of place I wanted more! Easily the best comic book movie since The Dark Knight, beats the hell out of Iron Man 2. I'd much prefer a Thor 2 to the upcoming Avengers movie. If Captain America is half as good as this I'll be delighted!

Killing Bono

I really enjoyed it, I don't think its meant to be a comedy but it does have a lot of humour in it. It's great to see that era of Dublin on the big screen, and shock horror, Bono comes across as very likeable. I'd recommend it.

Painful comedy by numbers, I've not seen the original French movie and still will watch it. I really dislike the original premise, at least the way its presented here, It might work better as a quirky low budget affair but despite the big names I was left feeling cold.

Its a credit to Danny Boyle that he can keep our attention for so long because at the end of the day, this is really the film about a man stuck in a hole, no more, no less. Even though we know the outcome, its still gripping. Tough to watch in parts, it's more about getting into the lead characters head space. By the time it comes to its conclusion you really feel you're stuck in the hole with him.

The Green Hornet

The best closing credits of any movie ever, glorious 3D and different in tone to the rest of the film, which was just *ok*. Michel Gondry's style is gorgeous but perhaps Green Hornet is the wrong vehicle for it. I didn't like the character too much, I don't think we're supposed to. I did like the gadgets and gizmos, tho I never could figure out why there's no damned WI-Fi in his car, he's got every other gadget and it really would have saved him a whole lot of trouble towards the end!

The Karate Kid

I really expected this to be awful, but it wasn't. I loved the original movie but maybe thats because I was a kid when I seen it. Kids will like this film a lot, for everyone else, well its ok, more watchable than you'd expect.

If you like the original TV show or if you like summer blockbusters with lots of explosions & car chases then this is the movie for you! Don't go expecting Oscar winning dialogue. It's not out to win awards, its out to entertain and it entertains really well!

A good old fashioned style horror. Its not overly gory, fans of the original Wolf movies should be pleased. Benicio was born to play the Wolfman

Ray Winstone has a odd presence in movies, almost like he's not there. This movie is no exception, its watchable but forgetable.

It Might Get Loud

Nice idea, but at the end of the day its just three lads sitting round talking about their guitar. If you're not any way musically minded then you're not going to like this film!

A little silly in places, the audience actually laughed where they should really laugh. But Gerard Butler is fantastic and really owns the movie

A poor cash in, rushed into production due to the surprising success of the first Twilight movie. Films like this are destroying cinema, don't let it happen.
