After the disaster that was Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen is back on form with this hilarious (and offensive at times) comedy which is filled with numerous great laugh out loud moments and some very nice cameos.

Wonderfully tense and atmospheric horror movie that is very unsettling and nightmarish throughout. The new very creepy score just adds to the atmosphere of the whole thing. Contains wonderful imagery as you try to work out what exactly is going on. Excellent.

Enjoyable action comedy with Mel Gibson putting in a great performance with plenty of funny lines. Not to mention a pitch perfect impression of Clint Eastwood.

What starts out pretty bad, actually turns into good solid action/martial arts with some nice visuals. The all star cast all do their best with the hokey dialogue. At over two hours, it is a little long, and could easily have lost 20 minutes or so to ramp up the action. But still a solid and different watch.

The closest I have ever come to leaving a cinema during a film. I really do want to like Irish films, but at times like this they make it very hard. Just an awful film all round, that despite being a dark "thriller", is hilariously bad at times. The poor lead actor is dreadful and seems to be channeling John Cleese at times with his performance (even down to moustache). I presume it is trying to say something about Irish life, but I would have no idea what that message is. A completely dreadful ending rounds off a awful film.

Overall this film is a bit of a mess. There is a really good film somewhere there screaming to get out but never does. Amazingly for a Tim Burton film it is terrible dull and the whole film stands still for the middle hour. Plus for the most part the great supporting cast is wasted (particularly Chloe Moretz). But it is not a total loss as there are some nice jokes, Depp is great and there are some nice surreal moments at times. But it really is a case of scraping a second star.

American Pie: Reunion

Disappointing, but still mildly enjoyable comedy. The magic is not recreated from the originals but Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy all do their best. Despite being way too long (comedies should not be two hours), the supporting cast are well and truly shafted with some getting only one scene cameos which is a shame, although it is great to see all the characters again, even though I do feel a bit old watching this 13 years after the original.

I have to say I really enjoyed this action film. Yes the plot makes no sense and Jason Statham has been here before, but the action scenes are excellent and has the good graces to never take itself too seriously. A real guilty pleasure.

Excellent and enjoyable low key comedy drama that features great performances from Ewan Mcgregor and Emily Blunt. Special praise for Kristin Scott Thomas who is brilliantly funny in a supporting role.

Good solid slow burning thriller with an excellent leading performance from Michael Biehn. Is not the usual slasher horror that the beginning suggests it might be and is all the better for it. Has a wonderful ending as well.

While a bit slow to start and the premise takes a while to get used to, this slowly builds into a nice little thriller, that has a very tense finale.

Despite the four year build up and all the hype, this film manages to life up to all expectations. Has great action scenes, wonderful humour (very whedonesque), and all the actors/characters get enough screentime, my main worry. The whole thing also has a wonderful comic book feel, with particular mention to the finale, which feels straight out of a comic. Just an all round excellent job.
