The Dictator

This film is not funny. It's hilarious. SBC hits back after the so so Bruno. The Dictator is easily as good as Borat. It's got some hardcore jokes but with a slice of cheese. It actually reminded me of Monty Python a lot. I would say its the funniest movie I have seen this year. Expect to hear some quotes in the future.

I haven't been a Tim Burton fan for ages, but I gotta say, I really enjoyed this. I am kinda sick of the Burton/ Depp films but thought this was pretty cool. Depp is great but the whole cast seem to be having fun. I like the story too, not very original, but it's nice that it's set in the 70's.

Beauty and the Beast 3D

I haven't watched this movie properly since I was a kid. And seeing it as an adult(haha) and in 3D is a very different experience. With everything that comes out for kids made in 3D these days, I didn't know what to expect with this. But it works. It really modernised the look of the movie. And also, the film itself and the songs, all still excellent. You really can't beat the classic Disney movies. If you have a child, a niece or a nephew, bring them.

Safe

Safe is a pretty decent action movie. It's not one of Stathams best mind you. His character is highly unlikable doesnt use Statham's usual charm/ humour. There are some good lines though. The action is fantastic and it actually reminded me of a Good Van Damme movie. Again with a Statham movie, you know what your gonna get. But all i'm saying is, it's not as good as say Blitz or The Mechanic. Its good, tough, cheesy fun though.

Tom Hardy is fantastic in this, very intense and he is huge. A very intense film, well acted, Nolte is great in it. The fight scenes are done really well, but the film is more focused on the characters and brothers. It has a certain type of Rocky-ness to it. it is a fantastic film and should be watched. Even the ladies will love it. It's not just a fight film.

Marvel Avengers Assemble

For 4 years, since the end credits of Iron Man, we have waited for this movie. And all thanks to Joss Whedon, it was worth it. It's a success to say the least. All of the actors are having a ball, and you can tell by the chemistry from them all. Each character gets enough screen time to do the film justice, which was a fear when this film was announced. The main plot isn't that amazing but it is a Huge film and made with so much detail that it deserves 5 stars for being made so successfully, with so much charm behind it. Another huge factor for this, is that the film is actually hilarious at times. The use of Hulk is fantastic, he is what he is and unlike the last two Hulk movies, there's no moaning of sort, it's just Hulk smash. And to comedy effect. Scenes between him and Thor are so great. The action is fast and big, well directed. Shield are a big factor in the story, but the Avengers are let off their leash and go wild. It's not gonna win any oscars(unless for effects maybe) but it is what Marvel set out to create. Looking forward to more movies set in this universe for years to come. Well done Whedon.

Battleship

Battleship is BIG FUN. That's all it set itself out to be. It's totally trying to be Transformers, but why not. Hasbro Hasbro. Anyway, It' a fun movie, the aliens aren't bad, the effects are pretty cool. The comedy is quite good though, and Taylor Kitsch proves once again, that he has leading man power. This wont win any awards, but look, it's a movie based on the board game Battleship.... It will make you laugh.

The Cold Light of Day

So, I am just back from seeing this "film". I liked Henry Cavill in Immortals. I thought it was fun and he was alright in it. And also, he is the next Supes. So i thought, this has Bruce Willis and Sigourney, it must be alright too. Well, all I can say is... Holy Shit! How the hell can a movie as bad as this get greenlit? It has to be the worst modern movie made. It is so badly directed, I don't know where to begin. All of the cast, Willis, Weaver and especially Cavill are so horrible, most of the time, it's just too funny to be taken serious. It makes you wonder, why it's taken so many years to get great movies made, like Anchorman 2, when studios throw money away at shite like this. What I will say is, it made me laugh out loud.

The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists

If your a fan of Wallace and Gromit, then you will love this. The animation is lovely, the cast are brilliant, Grant especially. It's funny, quirky and a good laugh. It would be better to see it in 2D as the 3D is useless. Bring your kids, nephews etc, they will love it.

21 Jump Street

21 Jump Street is totally different from the tv show you might remember, but in a great way. It's a really funny take on the show, with really nice respectful nods tot he original. Hill is as usual, on top form, but Tatum is by far the star of the show. Before I saw this, I hated him. But he has fantastic comedy in him. The 2 stars bounce off each other so well, I really hope they get a sequel out of this. Ice Cube is pretty good as the angry chief. It actually reminded more of an american Hot Fuzz in a way. Funniest film I have seen in ages! Go see it!!!!!!!!

What a great film. I wasn't looking forward to this, but was such a huge surprise. It's just a great BIG fun film. And Taylor Kitsch aint half bad as a leading man.

Brought my 3 year old girls and my niece to this and they loved it. I didn't mind the last 2, but this takes the story away from the music business and on to a desserted island. Kids will love it but its pretty dumb and boring for adults.
