While not a subtle and slow building as the original, When Paranormal Activity 2 offers scares and it offers them in a big way.
Whether or not you'll find this exciting more or less comes down to how you spooked you got by the first one.

While definitely surpassing the previous two iterations, its hard to shake the feeling I paid to watch people get sick for at least 30mins of the film running time.
