Production Wraps on CLOUD ATLAS

Genre bending adaptation wraps principal photography.

Production on the ambitious big screen adaptation of David Mitchell’s epic novel ‘Cloud Atlas’ has wrapped. Directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski along with Tom Tykwer, the genre bending film boasts an impressive all-star cast of Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent, Bae Doona and James D’Arcy.

The official synopsis of Mitchell’s novel:

“A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation — the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other’s echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.”

Cloud Atlas Productions has released (via Empire) the following behind-the-scenes photo featuring the Wachowskis, Tykwer and members of the creative team on set with props from the six interlinking tales.
