Portia Doubleday and Judy Greer Join CARRIE Remake

Two more join Stephen King adaptation.

Portia Doubleday (‘Youth in Revolt,’ ‘Almost Kings’) and Judy Greer (‘Jeff, Who Lives at Home,’ ‘Archer’) are set to join the cast of the Kimberly Peirce-directed ‘Carrie’ remake.

Chloë Moretz leads the cast playing Carrie White, the hyperkinetic teenager who gets pushed too far at the prom and wreaks havoc on her fellow high school students. Julianne Moore is now officially on board, taking the role of Carrie’s troubled mother. Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort co-star.

According to Deadline, Doubleday will take the role of the main antagonist, Chris Hargensen while Greer will play sympathetic gym teacher Miss Desjardin. Nancy Allen played Hargensen in Brian De Palma’s in 1976 adaptation, with Betty Buckley in the role of Desjardin.
