Poll Death for the Dark Knight

Is death REALLY on the cards for the Caped Crusader?

Ok so “The Dark Knight” has come (approached the billion dollar mark) and gone – and of course left a big black gapping hole in the internet – what’s left to talk about???

Well comic lovers, never fear as the latest controversy is just heating up with Batman fans set to discover whether the Caped Crusader is going to be killed off in his latest comic issue.

“Batman RIP” will see “the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman”, the comic’s Scottish writer Grant Morrison has revealed.  Wayne will either retire from his duties or be killed by a mystery villain known as the Black Glove. His fate will be revealed when the comic is published on 26 November.

The comic will be followed  by Neil Gaiman, who is writing a two-issue tribute to the character, starting with Batman #686 and tentatively titled Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? (due in February).

Until then, we can merely speculate as to whether Morrison really has the chops to kill off one of the most beloved/successful superhero characters?

What do you think – Will he die in the comic? SHOULD he die in the comic? Is this merely a desperate attempt to sell more comics or a worthy effort by Morrison and team? Answers on a postcard (or you can reply via our nifty little poll and  comment area below).
