With the success of vamp flick Twilight and rumours of a potential script, Movies.ie asks “Do you want to see Buffy resurrected for the Big Screen?”
“Into every generation a Slayer is born. One girl, in all the world, a chosen one. She alone will have the strength and skills to hunt the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer.”
That was of course until Buffy, Willow and the rest of the Scooby gang used the essence of the scythe to change the destiny of all their potential gal pals effectively unlocking their true slayer status, stopping the First and destroying Sunnydale in the process. Still with us?
Well now five years on – and following the massive box-office success of teen vamp pic “Twilight” in the States – it looks like the doors could be opening for a potential big-screen return of Joss Whedon’s beloved “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.
The news comes from Australia’s Herald-Sun newspaper (via Moviehole), who claim that Whedon already has a script ready to go and is waiting for a studio to commit. Like with most Whedon news, we’d recommend you take it with a pitch of salt (remember Serenity-gate?), but here’s the question – how many of you want to see Buffy return on the big screen? And perhaps more importantly what format would work best- big screen, television, comic book?
