POINT BREAK Remake Casts Its Johnny Utah

High-octane thriller casts its co-lead…

Australian actor Luke Bracey (‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation,’ ‘Monte Carlo’) has landed the role of Johnny Utah in the upcoming remake of the classic 1991 action-thriller ‘Point Break.’

Like the original, the remake will follow Utah, a young FBI agent who goes undercover to infiltrate a criminal gang in the world of international extreme sports.

Gerard Butler (‘Olympus Has Fallen,’ ‘300’) co-stars, taking the role of Bodhi, the adrenaline-junkie bank robber.

Ericson Core (‘Invincible’) is directing, with the script coming from Kurt Wimmer’s (‘Salt,’ ‘Law Abiding Citizen,’ ‘Total Recall’).

Alcon Entertainment’s co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will produce along with John Baldecchi, Taylor and Wimmer.
