Action thriller reboot finds its leading lady…
Teresa Palmer (‘Triple Nine,’ ‘Knight of Cups,’ ‘Warm Bodies’) is in negotiations to join the cast of Edgar Ramirez, Luke Bracey and Ray Winstone on the cast of the upcoming ‘Point Break’ reboot, according to reports.
Retaining the plot of the Kathryn Bigelow-directed original, the story follows Johnny Utah (Bracey), a young FBI agent tasked with infiltrating a gang of criminals, led by the thrill-seeking Bodhi (Ramirez).
Palmer would be playing the female lead, that of Utah’s love interest (played by Lori Petty in the 1991 original).
Ericson Core (‘The Invincible’) is in the director’s chair, with the screenplay coming from Kurt Wimmer.
Producers on the film include Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson of Alcon Entertainment, John Baldecchi, Chris Taylor and Wimmer.
