Pirates of the Caribbean 5 6 To Be Shot BacktoBack

Captain Jack to return for at least two more adventures after ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.’

While it comes as no surprise, Hitflix is reporting that Disney has begun quietly telling cast and crew to set aside a major block of time in the very near future so they can shoot ‘Pirates 5’ and ‘Pirates 6.’

With ‘On Stranger Tides’ now in post-production, it looks like the Disney exces are happy with what they have seen of the movie and have decided shooting two more sequels back-to-back, like they did with ‘Dead Man’s Chest’ and ‘At World’s End,’ is a safe enough bet.

But with Johnny Depp already committed to Tim Burton’s ‘Dark Shadows’ and Gore Verbinski’s ‘The Lone Ranger,’ both of which are aiming to shoot in 2011, it looks like the back-to-back shoot will have to wait until 2012.

In ‘On Stranger Tides,’ directed by Rob Marshall, Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too. Along with Depp the movie will co-star Penélope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Stephen Graham, Gemma Ward, Judi Dench, Kevin McNally and Ian McShane as Blackbeard.

‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ will be released in Disney Digital 3D(TM) and should hit Irish cinemas Oct 2011.
