Oscar winning actor to direct West End play.

Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman is turning his attention to the stage, with the actor planning to direct a play in London’s West End later this year.

‘Riflemind’, written by Cate Blanchett’s husband Andrew Upton, tells the story of a rock band getting back together 20 years after its members split up.

The production will star Scottish actor John Hannah, whose credits include “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “The Mummy” series.

Hoffman is co-artistic director of New York’s LAByrinth Theater Company.

‘Riflemind’ will open Sept. 18th at London’s Trafalgar Studios.
