Peter Jackson receives knighthood
Lord of the Rings helmer Peter Jackson is to receive a knighthood from his native New Zealand.
The 48-year old director was given the title for his “services to film”.
New Zealand knights and dames are sanctioned by Queen Elizabeth II, the Commonwealth nation’s official head of state.
Jackson is currently working on the Lord of the Rings prequel -The Hobbit with Mexican director Guillermo del Toro.
