Mark Pellington for The Orphanage Revamp

Mark Pellington has signed on to direct the Hollywood remake of The Orphanage.

 

According to Variety, the Mothman Prophecies helmer is in advanced talks to make the the film based on Juan Antonio Bayona’s 2007 Spanish horror. 

 

The original Orphanage starred Belen Rueda as a woman who takes charge of the orphanage where she was raised. Her son, Simón, soon begins to communicate with an imaginary friend and disappears.

 

Guillermo del Toro, who oversaw the original pic, is expected to produce the English-language revamp.
