Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler Reuniting for Rom-Com Parody THEY CAME TOGETHER

Rudd & Poehler take rom-com spoof.

‘Wet Hot American Summer’ stars Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler are to reteam with director David Wain on a romantic comedy parody titled ‘They Came Together,’ reports Variety.

The film centers on the predictably on-again/off-again relationship of Molly, who owns a quirky knick-knack store, and Jole, who works for the big corporation that is threatening to shut down the store.

Penned by Wain and longtime collaborator Michael Showalter, the script features rom-com staples such as “the jealous ex-girlfriend, the office jerk, scary in-laws, a boring dentist, a wise dog and beautiful shots of New York City in autumn.”

Wain is aiming to shoot ‘They Came Together’ in July, during Poehler’s hiatus from the hit comedy series ‘Parks and Recreation,’ on which Rudd has a recurring role.
