Deadline’s Mike Flemming is hearing that James McAvoy (‘Trance,’ ‘X-Men: First Class’) is close to finalising a deal to star opposite Daniel Radcliffe (‘Horns,’ ‘Harry Potter’) in 20th Century Fox’s ‘Frankenstein.’
The project, based on a script by ‘Chronicle’ scribe Max Landis, is described as a revisionist, sci-fi take on Mary Shelley’s 19th century gothic tale with the focus on themes of friendship and redemption.
McAvoy will be playing Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein alongside Radliffe’s Igor.
Paul McGuigan (‘Sherlock,’ ‘Push’ ‘Lucky Number Slevin’) is behind the camera with Davis Entertainment (‘Predators,’ ‘A Perfect Getaway’) producing.
