Sequel moving forward with new helmer…
Andy Fickman (‘Parental Guidance,’ ‘Escape to Witch Mountain,’ ‘She’s The Man’) has entered into talks to direct a sequel to the 2009 Kevin James-led comedy ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop.’
James is set to reprise his role as the hypoglycemic, Segway-riding Blart for more comedic misadventures, and like he did the first film, will co-write the script with actor/comedian Nick Bakay.
The first film, directed by Steve Carr, was a surprise hit, grossing $146 million in the U.S..
Production is scheduled for April with Todd Garner (‘Here Comes the Boom’), Adam Sandler and James producing.
