Pattinson and Mulligan to Co-Star in HOLD ON TO ME

Stars locked for kidnap thriller.

‘Twilight’ and ‘Cosmopolis’ actor Robert Pattinson has closed a deal to star opposite Carey Mulligan (‘Shame,’ ‘Drive’) in the James Marsh-directed kidnap thriller ‘Hold On To Me,’ formerly titled ‘Nancy and Danny.’

Based on a true story, the Brad Ingelsby-penned film is about a money hungry woman who returns to her hometown after her big-city dreams have failed. Once back, she set out to land her high-school crush and uses a hapless man as a pawn in a get-rich-quick scheme. And that plan is to kidnap the town’s richest man and hold him in a box while they await the ransom, and that is when things go horribly awry.

Deadline reports that Pattinson will be playing the “flashy supporting role of the woman’s life love, Jimmy, who isn’t involved in the crime.”

‘Hold On To Me’ will be produced by Alexandra Milchan and Steven Rales, Mark Roybal and Michael Pruss via their Indian Paintbrush banner, along with actor/director Todd Field, who was originally attached to direct before moving on to helm ‘Creed Of Violence.’
