Paltrow, McGregor, and Bettany Join Depp for MORTDECAI

Filming on the David Koepp-directed film gets underway…

It has been announced that principal photography has commenced on the Johnny Depp-led action comedy ‘Mortdecai,’ with Gwyneth Paltrow (‘Iron Man 3’), Ewan McGregor (‘Jane Got a Gun’), Paul Bettany (‘Blood’) and Olivia Munn (‘Magic Mike’) on board to co-star.

The film sees Depp playing debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charles Mortdecai as he searches for a stolen painting rumoured to contain a secret code that gains access to hidden Nazi gold. Along the way, Mortdecai has to juggle some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist.

With David Koepp (‘Premium Rush,’ ‘Secret Window,’ ‘Stir of Echoes’) behind the camera, the film is based on the popular three-novel anthology by Kyril Bonfiglioli, which has amassed a significant cult following,

Filming is taking place in London with Guy Burnet (‘Rites of Passage,’ ‘Beautiful Now’), Michael Byrne (‘Diana,’ ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’), Michael Culkin (‘Justin and the Knights of Valour,’ ‘The Hours’), Jonny Pasvolsky (‘Macbeth,’ ‘Mr & Mrs Murder’), Ulrich Thomsen (‘Banshee,’ ‘The Thing’), and Welsh actor and comedian Paul Whitehouse rounding out the cast.
