Following the announcement, Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer, took to Twitter to debunk the claims:

Johnny Whitworth (‘Limitless,’ ‘Empire Records’) has confirmed he’s set to play the half-demon villian, Blackout, in the upcoming ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.’ In the comics, the character has mechanically enhanced vampire-like teeth and an extreme sensitivity to sunlight. The Rider’s famous stare also won’t work on him. The actor confirms the villain 5.01 into the video.

‘Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll’ director Mat Whitecross is to start filming his contemporary noir thriller ‘Ashes’ this month with his cast of Ray Winstone, Jim Sturgess, Luke Evans, Lesley Manville and Jodie Whittaker.  Variety reports that Brendan Fraser has signed on to star in comedic heist film ‘Whole Lotta Sole.’ Set in Northern Ireland, the movie will be directed by Terry George (‘Reservation Road,’ ‘Hotel Rwanda’) with Jay Russell (‘Ladder 49,’ ‘The Water Horse’) producing. The script, written by George and Thomas Gallagher centers on a young man robbing a fish shop in order to pay off a gambling debt; the heist goes terribly – and humorously – awry when it turns into a hostage situation.
