Director Brad Furman (‘The Lincoln Lawyer’) has finally found a lead for his long gesting Pablo Escobar biopic, and no… it’s NOT Vincent Chase.
Deadline is hearing that ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ star Oscar Isaac has closed a deal to play the Colombian drug cartel kingpin. Described as the “Latino Godfather,” the Matt Aldrich-scripted screenplay chronicles Escobar’s rise to the head of the largest criminal organization in the world.
A September start in Colombia is planned. Producing the Black List project will be Raging Bull Entertainment, Scott Pictures, Film 360 and Relativity Media.
