Oscar Isaac Joins Brian K. Vaughan Adaptation THE GREAT MACHINE

‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ star Oscar Isaac has signed on to star in and produce superhero saga ‘The Great Machine,’ with ‘Seberg’ scribes Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel on writing duty.

The film will see Isaac playing Mitchell Hundred, a civil engineer who becomes America’s first living, breathing superhero after a strange accident gives him amazing powers. Eventually tiring of risking his life merely to help maintain the status quo, Mitchell retires from masked crime-fighting and runs for Mayor of New York City, winning by a landslide. The story explores the political situations Mitchell finds himself in, with frequent flashbacks to his days as a masked vigilante.

‘The Great Machine’ is an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s Eisner Award-winning comic book ‘Ex Machina’ –  not to be confused with Alex Garland’s 2014 sci-fi feature ‘Ex Machina# which also starred Isaac.
