Ward And Anderson announce new technology for Irish cinemas
Omniplex Cinemas today announced the €1,000,000 rollout of Digital 3D installations at Omniplex Galway, Omniplex Limerick, Omniplex Newry and Omniplex Santry. This brings to nine the total number of Digital 3D installations in the Omniplex group, with existing Digital 3D facilities in Omniplex Armagh, Omniplex Cork, Omniplex Dundonald, Omniplex Lisburn and Omniplex Wexford.
The cinemas are 100% Irish owned and operated by the WARD AND ANDERSON GROUP, with 25 locations both in the North and South of Ireland, they are the largest cinema exhibition company in Ireland.
The following feature films will be available in Digital 3D format during the remainder of 2009.

Through Omniplex’s providers Digital Cinema Limited, Omniplex will use the latest BARCO digital projection equipment with MASTERIMAGE 3D technology for all the above feature films. Digital projection is the key enabler for modern 3D technology making the viewer’s experience more seamless and enjoyable. Audiences viewing a film presented in Masterimage 3D will be given a pair of plastic 3D glasses to watch each film. There will be a total of 13 Digital 3D feature films released in 2009 and this number will increase by 50% in 2010.
