No Bob Marley for Scorsese

Scorsese pulls out of Marley biopic.

Martin Scorsese has pulled out of his Bob Marley documentary. Jonathan Demme will take over for the Oscar winning director.

Scorsese, whose most recent film was the Rolling Stone documentary Shine a Light, said that he could not continue work on the Marley film because of “scheduling conflicts.”

Marley’s son Ziggy welcomed the change and expressed confidence that Demme’s participation in the project would result in “the ultimate celebration of my father’s life.”

EXTRAs: Demme made the 1984 Talking Heads documentary Stop Making Sense and the 2006 Neil Young documentary Heart of Gold.
