Tom Cavanagh joins Yogi Bear

Yogi Bear finds its Ranger Smith!



Tom Cavanagh has signed on to play Ranger Smith in "Yogi Bear," Warner Bros.' live- action/CG animated pic that has begun shooting in New Zealand.



Cavanagh will join Anna Faris, Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake in the film as the male lead and romantic interest of a documentary filmmaker (Faris) who comes to Jellystone Park to shoot a film. Aykroyd's voicing the title character and Timberlake his sidekick Boo-Boo in the feature version based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series.



Donald De Line and Karen Rosenfelt are producing and Eric Brevig ("Journey to the Center of the Earth") is directing from a script by Brad Copeland.

    I think it might be fun... plus Tom Cavanagh is perfect for the role

      would you trust this man to talk to a cartoon ?

    Now dont get me wrong id never pay to see this movie but i can imagine sitting down watching it some christmas with my godson

    This could be terrible.

    Then again it could be brilliant. Really depends if they try to go for a Garfield feel or a Rocky and Bullwinkle tongue in cheek approach.

    Okay I really had my doubts on this however the cast list is pretty spot on, I may have to reconsider.

    I'm just going to go out and say it. This film will be a horrific cash-in devoid of any charm and humour.
