Stuart Townsend joins Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L Jackson and Natalie Portman for Thor

Stuart Townsend has joined the cast of the upcoming film version of Marvel Comics' Thor.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, Variety report that Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano will play The Warriors Three, who fight alongside Norse god Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

Other big names for the project include Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L Jackson and Natalie Portman.

Thor is due to begin shooting in January and will be released in May 2011.

Presumably he's playing Fandrall the Dashing - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fandral - so he really just needs a decent dye job!
