John McTiernan has signed on to direct the action thriller Shrapnel.
According to Variety, the film follows two war vets engaged in a "deadly game of cat and mouse".
Evan Daughtery is writing the script forthe film.Paul Breuls' Belgium-based Corsan and Film Engine is financing the film.
"We are pleased to have John McTiernan on board, whose track record is consistent with the calibre of quality film-makers that Corsan is committed to supporting," Bruels said.
McTiernan's credits include Die Hard, Predator and The Hunt For Red October.
