Nolan reveals details of Superman film

Christopher Nolan has revealed further details of his approach towards the next Superman film.

The Batman helmer outlined his and writer David Goyer's ideas for the movie:

"We're approaching it in a not dissimilar way in terms of trying to find an incredible story in a way that audiences can engage with it, the way they engage with contemporary action films," he told the newspaper. "I think David's approach is a very good way of doing just that.

"A lot of people have approached Superman in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us, that's what I know how to do. Each serves to the internal logic of the story. They have nothing to do with each other."

According to reports, Nolan's brother Jonathan could make his directorial debut on the project.

Christopher Nolan is going to be king of the superhero movie in a few years. I can't wait to see what he does with Superman, especially after seeing how he saved the Batman franchise after that Joel Schumacher twat almost killed it for good.

I blame Akiva Goldsman more as he wrote the damn awful scripts.

Glasses on Clark Kent, glasses off Superman. Lois lane must be the dumbest women on the planet.*

I'm not sure superman can really work in quite the same way, the really need set the sense of fantasy or it is all just ridiculous. I do hope they can make it work again.

(* Vaguely recalling a timetravelling villain from an episode of Lois and Clark.)

Nolan could change things but I'm not bothered at the moment with this, not after the last debacle..meh

It will be really intersting to see where they go with it. Nolan hasn't done anything wrong yet, long may it last :)

I'm hoping Nolan picks a director straight out of left field for this, i'd like to see someone like Paul Greengrass which i'm sure won't happen but a man can dream can't he?

You cant have a director making his debut film as the helmer of a Superman film, he has to prove himself first... Paul Greengrass? eh sorry but are you on crack? I think it needs someone like John Favreau or maybe a Kyle Newman(Fanboys)... but I said it to the man himself in Vicar St last year ... I would love Kevin Smith to direct it, especially seeing as how Goyer is writing it!

No i'm not thanks. And what's wrong with Paul Greengrass, he worked on Watchmen briefly and he directs smart action films? Besides Richard Donner had only directed TV and the Omen when he got the original Superman job and that worked out alright, Sam Raimi worked in lower budget almost B-Movie films before Spider-Man and that worked out fine. Sometimes fanoys aren't right, Heath Ledger as an example.

That time travelling villian was played by Bruce Campbell

quote :DUDE, I was only playing with ya, I just wouldn't personally like a Greengrass Superman flick, having said that I thought that I'd like  a Bryan Singer one!

And the word is that Jonathan Nolan will direct, which would be a mistake... he is not proven, never directed anything ... not even tv or The Omen! As for Raimi and Spider-man ... different ball park fella, and plus everyone was sure he'd do a good job!

As for Fanboys being wrong ... yeah it happens, and yeah at first people didn't think Heath was the man for The Joker, because of his past work ... but he kicked the crap out of it and usually comic book fans know better than the loud mouth movie fan! ... Oh and ask a Watchmen fanboy what they thought....

And I was talking about Kyle Newman... the director of the movie "Fanboys" not sending a shout out to fanboys!

Oh and while we're at it I'd love to see a Quentin Tarantino Superman flick, but that's just not gonna happen.
