New Star Wars director Announced

George Lucas has asked director Jim Marquand to join the latest Star Wars project.
Jim who’s father previously directed ‘Return Of The Jedi’ will take the reigns on a number of episodes of the upcoming Star Wars live action television series.

The show, which is written by Lucas himself, is set between the events of ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ and ‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’ and chronicle the rise of Darth Vader while expanding the Star Wars universe and expanding the role of minor characters from the franchise.

The original plan was 100 hour long episodes, although reports from producer Rick McCallum last year reveal that over 400 episodes have been fleshed out in total. That’s a lot of television!
