New Scribe Hired for Downey Jr’s THE JUDGE

Dramatic comedy lands new scribe.

Deadline reports that screenwriter Bill Dubuque has been hired by Warner Bros. to rewrite Nick Schenk’s screenplay ‘The Judge,’ a dramatic comedy that the studio is developing as a star vehicle for ‘Avengers Assemble’ star Robert Downey Jr.

The films would see Downey playing a big-city lawyer who returns home after the death of his mother to learn that his estranged father, a judge, is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.

David Dobkin (‘The Change-Up,’ ‘Wedding Crashers’) is attached to direct, and will also serve as producer alongside Downey Jr. and Susan Downey via their Team Downey banner.
