Anna Rose Holmer, the filmmaker behind the award-winning 2015 drama ‘The Fits,’ is set to take the helm for the rodeo drama ‘Bronco Belle,’ with Natalie Portman (‘Jackie’) attached to star.

A “Rocky-esque female empowerment tale,” the drama follows a stubborn but vulnerable and determined woman with a chip on her shoulder who dreams of being accepted as a professional bull-rider – riding those eight seconds of fury that mark a champion.

The script comes from Khurram Longi, who was originally set to direct with Emily Blunt starring.

‘Bronco Belle’ will mark Portman and Holmer’s second collaboration, having recently worked together on James Blake music video ‘My Willing Heart.’
