Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston star in Wanderlust, a comedy from director David Wain (Role Models) and producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) about a couple who leaves the pressures of the big city and joins a freewheeling community where the only rule is to be yourself. George (Rudd) and Linda (Aniston) are an overextended, stressed out Manhattan couple. After George is downsized out of his job, t...hey find themselves with only one option: to move in with George’s awful brother in Atlanta. On the way there, George and Linda stumble upon Elysium, an idyllic community populated by colorful characters who embrace a different way of looking at things. Money? It can’t buy happiness. Careers? Who needs them? Clothes? Only if you want them. Is Elysium the fresh start George and Linda need? Or will the change of perspective cause more problems than it solves?

WANDERLUST (USA/16/98mins)
Directed by David Wain. Starring Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, Malin Akerman, Alan Alda, Justin Theroux, Ken Marino.
THE PLOT: Victims of the recession, recently laid-off Manhattanites George (Rudd) and Linda (Aniston) head to Georgia, and the former's irritating brother Rick (Marin, co-writer here, with Wain). On the way thought they stumble upon an "intentional community" where materialism is out and free love is in. As with all hippie communes though, it's never quite as free and breezy as the brochure would suggest - for example, you can never take a dump alone. Still, burnt-out founder Carvin (Alda) seems to have his heart, and his hash, in the right place, whilst the presence of the beautiful Eva (Akerman) makes it that little bit easier for the uptight George to, hey, give this crazy lifestyle a shot.
THE VERDICT: Reminds me of  a stoner Couples Retreat, this latest Apatow production garnering some highly lukewarm reviews. Isn't it about time Jennifer Aniston paused and took a good look at her output? She's a smart comedienne, but, holy moly, she's beginning to come across as Kate Hudson's big sister these days. Who picks her roles for her, Katherine Heigl? Still, it's hard to resist a cast that includes Rudd and Alda in the mix, so, chances are, this will do just fine, lukewarm reviews or not.

The film is a humourless embarrassment, the cliche situations and flat dialogue decorated but not embellished by the envelope-pushing obscenity traditionally associated with its producer Judd Apatow

Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston click so well, and credibly, as a screen couple in Wanderlust, you may wonder why they couldn't be a go-to pairing for just about any quirky romcom. This film isn't going to stick in your mind because of a stirring and original narrative or heart-wrenching lead performance; it's going to stickthere because it is just good fun, plain and simple

Despite a few high infrequent high spots, David Wain's directorial following to Role Models proves to be less "Wander"ful and more "Lust"less.

If you enjoyed the amusing Role Models a few years ago, then you'll most likely get a kick out of David Wain's new film Wanderlust. Uptight Manhattanites Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston lose their tiny but expensive apartment and wander into a hippie commune that still practices free love circa 1971. Much hilarity ensues as they get to grips with doorless rooms, vegetarian meals and a nudist writer. There's also a sub-plot involving land developers who want to build a casino in the area. Rudd continues to show why he's ideal for playing straight-man parts when everyone else lets everything hang loose (literally, in the case of the nudist writer). The film isn't as sharp in its cultural observations as Role Models, but it's a relaxed, easygoing comedy that doesn't overstay its welcome.

What can I say other than I was expecting this movie to be somewhat boring, it was watchable but terrible!!!
