Mute slave Harald escapes his Scottish masters with the help of 10 year old ARE, torturing and killing them before joining a band of dispossessed Vikings. They go to sea, determined to return to Scandinavia to fight the spread of Christianity, but for Harald the journey is also a personal one to discover his own origins. Caught in a terrible storm, the group drift for 40 days until, on the verge of death, they find themselves in a freshwater river. The land seems at once strange yet familiar.

Didn't like this movie one bit. Nothin really happened. When ya hear about a movie about vikings, ya expect a lot more

Very strange film and I hope the actors weren't paid by word because they wouldn't be getting much. The fight scenes are very impressive though and Mikkelsen gives a good performance.

The most disappointing film I have seen in a long time...Was really looking forward to it because I loved Bronson. Don't waste your time. A frustrating and dull film...

Not enough action for an action film (it really isn't that, whatever it is), not arty enough for an art film. The title cards between scenes were just terrible lame, breaking you out of what little atmosphere the film had managed to generate. There were a few promising scenes at the beginning and I really wanted to find something likable about this film but it was incredibly tedious. I think there might have been a few people in the audience at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival who managed to find something they liked about this film. Maybe with a better introduction one might be able to appreciate this for whatever it is supposed to be but I can't help thinking it was just really really bad.

I don't think this film was shot or scripted very well. It's certainly a different film but I definitely wouldn't bother watching it again.

Saw this at the JDIFF, a bit different but worth a watch.
