Movies.ie Critic Review

An ensemble romantic comedy that is made up almost entirely of meet-cute moments, in amongst the many subplots, Kutcher's nice-guy florist proposes to Alba's girlfriend-in-a-state-of-shock; MacLaine and Hector Elizondo are the happy old couple about to celebrate 50 years together when their love hits its first major bump; Emma Roberts is all set to lose her virginity with her loving boyfriend, and doesn't mind telling everyone about it; Bradley Cooper is crying in his pretzel bag over a broken heart alongside fellow flyer Julia Roberts' good soldier, using her leave to spend just one night with the love of her life; most surprisingly, country Barbie Taylor Swift pretty much steals the show, being a natural at playing a ditzy teen head-over-heels with Taylor Lautner's dopey school hunk.

THE VERDICT: A movie that couldn't be more commercial if it came with free chocolates and a heart-shaped balloon for every ticket sold, Valentine's Day is, like so many tacky gifts on this annual mushfest, utterly disposable. Once Valentine's weekend has passed, who in their right mind would want to go and see this? This is Love, Actually with all the grit and spit taken out. It's that insipid.

Missed the start but very similar to an American's take on Love Actually. Lots of mini stories with some that intertwine. A few shock twists and plenty of good looking faces too watch!

A few surprises in this film also made it more enjoyable I thought. Well worth the watch!

It tries to be Love Actually but falls at the first hurdle: The people never seem real.

I normally write long reviews, but this movie was so bad and predictable that I will just recommend people to stay away of it. Basically, it's an Americanised version of Love Actually without the stars or the charm of that film. It's such a mess. Don't watch it!

Your average chick flick, unrealistic in a lot of places as they always are. As chick flicks go though, if you're a fan of sensitive girly movies with a touch of comedy, then this isn't half bad. If you don't like romance flicks, then simply avoid. Not the worst attempt at romance by far and all the small stories keep things fresh.

With such a big cast I expected more. It's ok but I expected more considering the high profile people involved.

Enjoyable film that binds Love Actually and Pretty Woman into one. Makes women seem a bit crazy and men seem like hopeless romantics constanlty getting their hearts broken. Not the worst rom com, worth a watch on DVD/TV.

Not the best Rom Com I've seen, actually quite disapointed. Great cast, but it was missing spark, charm, however was watchable. Do go see this movie
