When a successful British ghost writer, The Ghost, agrees to complete the memoirs of former British Prime Minister Adam Lang, his agent assures him it's the opportunity of a lifetime. But the project seems doomed from the start-not least because his predecessor on the project, Lang's long-term aide, died in an unfortunate accident. As The Ghost works, he begins to uncover clues suggesting his predecessor may have stumbled on a dark secret linking Lang to the CIA-and that somehow this information is hidden in the manuscript he left behind. Was Lang in the service of the American intelligence agency while he was prime minister? And, was The Ghost's predecessor murdered because of the appalling truth he uncovered?

The Greyscale Adventures Of Tony Blair: SuperSpy (as I call it) is a deliberately directed, well acted and classy treatment of a plot that is so balls-out ridiculous I firmly believe the writer wears a tin-foil hat.

McGregor spends his time running about in the rain, while Brosnan eliquently displayed his inability to maintain an accent for a whole film. Riveting stuff, really.

Very smart thriller. Kinda dragged here and there, the cinematography and ending are great.

The Ghost Writer is a solid thriller. I can't believe the argument of the negative reviews here. The last 25 minutes were a bit predictable indeed but the rest of the film was decent and suspenseful. Solid performances by McGregor, Williams, Brosnan and Cattrall. The whole setting was intriguing; I kept wondering, what is going to happen next? And it didn't disappoint... til the ending came. It wasn't a bad ending but I thought the story deserved a better resolution. At least it was a well-constructed film, much better than most thrillers out there. It might be a bit slow for some people, but I'm glad Mr Polanski avoided the clichés of the genre. Alexandre Desplat's score complements the production with his usual outstanding compositions. A must-see!

I seem to be in the minority here who believe this was a good film. I went to see this with my mother (thanks Movies.ie) and she also enjoyed it. I must admit to loving brosnan in anything bar mama mia, so maybe am slightly biased but felt was a great performance by him as PM. The only fail this movie has is i worked out the ending before the audience was supposed to. But overall i enjoyed this film.

I got completely immersed into this movie. There is a constant underlying unease during the film, which keeps you going until the unexpected twist at the end. The cast is great, Thanks Movies.ie for the free tickets!
