Pretty good Irish film, gangster style kinda, very funny, good pace, always entertaining. Watch out for Jim Broadbent's dodgy Dublin accent though :(
Americanisation of Irish cinema at its best.
Enjoyable enough comedy that is never as good as perhaps it should be. Brendan Gleeson and Jim Broadbent are there usual excellent selfs and there are enough laughs to keep the film going.
Epic.... Irish Cinema almost at its best.... Although the word dude was used too much :)
This film is worth seeing just for the one liners! 'dirty.....as a bag of carrots'. I often feel quite worried when im on my way to an Irish made film as I so many times have felt let down when leaving the theatre. This was not the case here, with strong performances from both Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson you become engulfed in this film. It flies from beginning to end with plenty laugh out loud moments, and that is something which any Irish films ive seen lately havnt achieved! Well worth a watch!
Good movie but plot was weak. You can't fault any of the lead actors' performances or the supporting cast for that matter and though Jim Broadbent's accent wasn't awful, he did sometimes sound a bit like Ringo Starr narrating Thomas the Tank Engine! Entertaining movie nonetheless.
there were a few LOL moments but otherwise this was an average movie. Jim Broadbands accent was AWFUL and really distracted me for the entire movie. Cillian Murphy wasn't bad and the rest of the cast showed up! I think I would only have given it 2 stars if it wasn't Irish!!
good irish movie, all on top form too
Funny violent and sad. A must for anyone who hates clampers.
Very dark comedy, but absolutely brilliant...probably my favourite Irish movie ever, can't wait to see it again :)
I really enjoyed this movie! It is has a similar feel to Intermission but has a much better story and performances IMO. Jim Broadbent's character stole the show for me. Hilarious stuff....man!
Very enjoyable movie, Good script has some great lines, particularly for Jim Broadbent and Brendan Gleeson. Reminded me of Intermission (also by Mark O'Rowe) and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.Well worth a look.
There's a lot to admire in this movie. There are some very funny lines, hilarious run-on gags, and memorable scenes. I really enjoyed Brendan Gleeson and Cillian Murphy's performances. The story is quite unpredictable in parts, and succeeds in keeping your interest.
Great cast, good story, witty lines and funny moments. Didn't see the ending coming, was very different. Shows that no matter how hardened you are, you can still have a soft loving side, thank you Brendan Gleeson. Shows that there's always some form of hope and someone who'll love you no matter what. A good Irish film. I recognised Dublin landmarks :D
