If you don't take this too seriously, its actually a good (albeit predictable) laugh with some hilarious moments.

Saw it on the plane and thats the only reason I saw it. It wasn't too funny and at times the characters were quite annoying! wouldn't recommend it!

I've seen a lot of films in my life and out of them all there are very few I have ever gone as far to say are disastrous and quite often I manage to find something good in the bad. For example the woefully made The Happening and Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus I love as comedies and so they aren't complete failures in my mind. But then we have films like G:I Joe, Disaster Movie, Avatar and this directors previous film Wild Hogs which are ones that I can include in my worst films list. And although I didn't have high hopes for this film I was surprised by how bad it was and now Old Dogs will now be entering my list of disasters, and coming up near the top. The films story has nothing new to offer and is a story I've seen be used and abused for years in Hollywood. Travolta and Williams play two business partners with no families or other priorities besides work. They are in the middle of closing a massive deal with some Asian businessmen. Then Williams finds out he has kids and his priorities change, and the film leads to him having to decide what's more important, his kids or the life changing business deal. So in other words this is the same as Imagine That, The Game Plan, Click etc.. And it's a story which is handled worse and worse with each film it's incorporated into. And this hopefully is the final nail in the coffin and the last time we will ever be subjected to this story being played out in front of our eyes. Old Dogs never even begins to get things right. I saw the film in a surprisingly packed theatre and the only time anyone laughed was when Justin Long came in with his very funny but brief appearance. That couple minutes aside this was a film packed full of cliches and old jokes which were never actually that good to begin with. To be honest it got a little awkward sitting there at a comedy film in dead silence. Usually when I go see a comedy film it is someones kind of film and they have a good time but no one enjoyed this and rightly so. They didn't even manage to cast this film well despite the pretty generalised characters. And the problem isn't necessarily the cast as much the roles they were given. Robin Williams is far too old to play the father of two small kids and Travolta is too young to play the pill popping womaniser who's on the receiving end of a lot of old man/grandad jokes. If they swapped the roles then sure the film would still be dreadful but it would at least make sense and be therefore a lot less irritating. Seth Green is just as useless as the main two stars, if not more so. He has never been the strongest comedy actor but he takes his uselessness to a whole new level here. It's obvious he didn't care about this project as he just blatantly revisits gags from previous films from his career. For example that so called 'joke' from Without a Paddle in which a bear mistakes him for her cub and he ends up singing in its lap is redone here with an ape as the animal in question. So all in all this is one of the worst films I've ever been subjected to and is undeniably this years worst film. The director has made his worst film to date, which was never going to be an easy task. Justin Long aside every member of the cast are dreadful. Travolta is extremely dull, Matt Dillon's cameo is just as lame and the late Bernie Mac also fails to impress in what I fear will be the last film I see him in. But Williams takes the biscuit for worst display and it is hard to believe that he is an Oscar winner. It is extremely hard to see any aspect of the film in which it went right with the poor cast, recycled jokes, lifeless story and outright irritating and gigantic plot holes. I don't see a lot of people making the same mistake as me (thinking this'll be alright) but just in case I think it is my duty to warn you against watching this in cinemas, on DVD or even in a few years when RTE show it as the Big Big Movie.

There where only few laughing moments. I can give 2 extra stars only because of Travolta and Williams, and gorilla of course:)

I can't help thinking that John Travolta is too young looking to be in this movie. Someone like steve Martin would have been better. The granparent joke and the mixing up of pills need a older looking actor.
