"No Country for Old Men" begins when Llewelyn Moss finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law--in the person of aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell--can contain. As Moss tries to evade his pursuers--in particular a mysterious mastermind who flips coins for human lives--the film simultaneously strips down the American crime drama and broadens its concerns to encompass themes as ancient as the Bible and as bloodily contemporary as this morning's headlines.

I just do not get why some people thought this was a master piece ?!? The two stars are for the great first and second acts ... the final act just RUINS the movie for me. The cast are great and the story is great ... but seriously ... that ending ... are you for real?!?

While out hunting Llewelyn Moss stumbles into a world of crime and murder. He finds the bodies of several Mexican men and $2m cash from what appears to be a botched drug deal. After making the discovery instead of informing the local sheriff he decides to keep the money and the guns. Unfortunately for him this puts a ruthless killer on his tail, a man by the name of Anton Chigurgh who kills everybody standing in his way of that money, whether it be enemies, strangers, old friends or even his employers. As Moss desperately tries to stay one step ahead more and more people perish at the hands of the psychopath as he moves closer and closer to the money. Meanwhile the local sheriff oversees the investigation but has trouble coping with the horror he is trying to stop. The story ties up nicely in an exciting final 20 minutes and marks the Coen Brothers' return to their crime roots. This is a masterpiece, quite simply. Josh Brolin is amazing as Llewelyn Moss and gives his careers best performance to date. Tommy-Lee jones is also brilliant and so to is Woody Harrelson but in the end it's Javier Bardem who steals the show. He was absolutely phenomenal as ruthless psychopath killer Anton Chigurgh and I don't think anyone was surprised he won an Oscar for his performance and his character has already gone down as one of the best/worst baddies in film history, which is some accomplishment. He perfectly portrayed the killer, a man with no qualms of conscience and who leaves peoples lives in the hands of a coin, believing faith will save them if they deserve to live. it really is chilling to see someones life rest on a coin toss, even when you know it's fake. The Coen Brothers produce their finest piece of work here and if you've seen Fargo or miller's Crossing then you will know how brilliant this must be. They here why they're some of the best directors in Hollywood with this instant classic., winner of 5 Oscars. In years to come this is the film that will be watched to celebrate the careers of Joel and Ethan Coen. Truly mesmerising and if you have failed to see it yet then I suggest you get to Xtra-Vision sharpish. 10 out of 10 and I don't think many will tell me I'm wrong for giving it this mark.

No Country For Old Men is a good movie, a bit crazy and perhaps not one for the faint at heart.

Shockingly disappointing! I'm a huge Coens fan and expected so much more from this. Bardem was brilliant, but one great acting performance does not a great film make. The other actors were far from their best and the awful ending ruined any hope of this movie gaining anything more than one star from me. Please note: the one star is for Bardem. Without him, this movie would be immediately destined for the bargain bin in your local XtraVision.

Very enjoyable up to the last 20-30 minutes.seems to go against a lot of what the film was building up to.

This was a great film. Story line was excellent and kept me guessing through most of it. I found the sudden switch at the end far too disconcerting, but short of that downfall it doesnt have much wrong with it!
